The Week of 1/22/2006
Witty one liner: There is no I in TEAM but there’s a ME!!
Quote of the week: “Nothing is at last sacred but the integrity of your own mind.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
Offbeat oddity (courtesy of the planner): Approximately 75 acres of pizza are consumed in the United States every day
Planner quote: “A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.” – Lao-Tzu
I do actually use the “there is no I in team” one a lot. I do still have a deep-seated belief that I am important and the world should revolve around me.
I am not proud of this, but I just googled “integrity.” You see, I had so many leadership seminars in high school that revolved around the word “integrity” that I think I blocked it out of my vocabulary and denied it any mental space. For those who don’t know, it means: “the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness” and “the state of being whole and undivided.” I think Ralphy meant the first one, but I can tell you for a fact that my mind is not “whole and undivided” I am constantly arguing with myself over this, that, or the other thing. But I do like to believe that I am honest, have strong principles and am generally morally upright.
I CONTRIBUTED TO THE 75 ACRES OF PIZZA EATEN YESTERDAY AND IT WAS GLORIOUS!!! I HAVE FINALLY FOUND DECENT GYRO PIZZA IN NYC THAT INCLUDES THE MEAT AND THEY EVEN GAVE US TZATZIKI SAUCE!!!! HIT THEM UP!!!!
I am working hard on my journey of living a healthier life and losing some weight. I feel like every day is that single step.
