Week of 11/20/2005
Witty one liner: Last night I was looking at the stars and I was wondering where the heck is my ceiling!
Quote of the week: Showing off a.k.a. you’re jealous because you can’t do it
Offbeat oddity (courtesy of the planner): The Ski-doo snowmobile was originally supposed to be called the Ski-dog; there was a typo.
I just realized what all the numbers in the corners of the days are about – 8241 debt, 7542 debt, 8929 debt, 10428 debt – this was the year I did NaNoWriMo for the first time.
I actually really miss being able to see the stars. The light pollution in NYC is so bad that you cannot see much of anything besides planes, satellites, and the moon at night. I remember the first time one of my NYC friends visited me back home, she was in awe of how many stars she could see. I think that this weekend when I go home for Thanksgiving I will make the time to step out and just look at the stars for a moment. All that being said, the sight of NYC at night when crossing one of the bridges back into Manhattan is only a few steps below a clear winter night sky in my hometown.
And yeah, I think I am one of those people who call others showoffs when I am jealous of their badass skills.
As for NaNoWriMo, I do not believe I will be making the 50,000 word count this year. It has been a rough month, but the challenge has led to over 3,000 words being written so I do not consider it a failure.
