This Week Ten Years Ago

The Week of 1/29/2006

Witty one liner: Even if the voices are not real, they have some real good ideas.

Quote of the week: “To be great is to be misunderstood…” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Offbeat oddity (courtesy of the planner): There aren’t any billboards in the state of Vermont.

Planner quote: “Heart is what separates the good from the great.” – Michael Jordan

This quote evokes stories of me as a young child calling 911 and then blaming it on the “voices” and the new Suicide Squad trailer that was released. I won’t say that I still hear voices, but I won’t say that I don’t hear voices.

I don’t know how I feel about greatness always being misunderstood. I guess there is a historical precedent to it. Having heart is important and does raise some people up above others and is what can make a good thing awesome instead of just mediocre, but at the same time you have to have more than just heart. You have to work for it, which might be implied with heart, but not necessarily.

And I checked on the Vermont billboard thing, it’s true! In 2008 they celebrated 40 years of being billboard free! How crazy is that?

Vermont is also very serious about buying local. I have enjoyed traveling there. And I remember the voices, like it was yesterday!

    1. I think I need to do a trip to Vermont. I should plan and execute the NY State road trip first
